The things you don’t want to miss about this ‘novel’ Coronavirus.

What is Coronavirus actually? Coronaviruses (CoVs) are important pathogens for humans and animals, usually associated to respiratory (upper respiratory tract particularly) and gastro-intestinal infections. Morphologically, Coronaviruses exhibit “crown-like” appearance and hence are named “Coronavirus.”

What’s Covid-19? How does it have a relationship with Coronavirus? A new strain of coronavirus causing pneumonia-like symptoms was recently identified in Wuhan, China, marking the beginning of the spread of the virus across the globe. This novel strain appears to be genetically similar to members of Coronavirus family, SARS-Cov(Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus) and MERS(Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), and both of them has formerly dared clinical and public challenges locally to China and Jordan respectively. That’s why, the agent which causes it termed as “SARS-Cov2.”

Does this novel virus get transmitted from animals? What molecular analysts have to say about this? There’s not a supporting evidence that it gets transmitted from animals, primarily indicating it adopts the route from ‘person-to-person’ rather than ‘animal-to-person.’ Also, it’s likely to get transmitted via respiratory droplets. However, molecular analysts suggest that it could be originated from bats after passing in intermediate hosts, highlighting the high zoonotic potential of Coronaviruses.

How deadliest it is? Covid-19 epidemic has claimed the 8,791 lives yet and infecting almost 213,617 people all across the globe.

Symptoms? When to see the doctor? Patients confronting Covid-19 may have mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms including: ●fever ●Cough(dry cough precisely) ●Shortness of breath ●Diarrhoea

You maybe assymptomatic! Studies reveal that one can display no symptoms at all but still would be able to transmit viruses to next person.

Any potential treatment available? Why antibiotics are of no use? No, since it’s entirely a novel agent to be dealt with. So, there’s evidently no vaccine or treatment available on the scene however certain precautions or preventions may subside the effects of symptoms. Also, antibiotics, which treat against bacteria solely, don’t prove to work against it. Viruses require vaccinations.

WHO suggested precautions to battle Coronavirus: ●Wash your hands frequently ●Maintain social distancing ●Avoid touching nose, mouth, hands ●Practice respiratory hygiene

How it’s different from flu (influenza)? These two may share the same symptoms but still these two are contrasting as chalk and cheese. The flu has an R0 value(basic reproduction number) of about 1.3. Meanwhile, the R0 value for Coronavirus is yet to be identified. ●Incubation period for Coronavirus: 7-14 days. ●Incubation period for flu: 3 days. Least but not last, if you get spotted with the Coronavirus infection, just adopt quarantine firstly as a preventive measure.

Important message: Wear masks properly. Don’t miss to tell your travel history to your doctors.

Covid-19; a Sudden and Unwelcome Global War.

What is Covid-19? How it lies in the bracket of ‘Coronavirus’? Who will win the battle against it?

Covid-19 has recently enveloped the whole globe as global pandemic claiming over 7,000 lives. It’s currently omnipresent with the exception of Antarctica on Earth.

“Coronavirus disease 2019”, as named by World Health Organization, is a new respiratory infection that infects lungs and airways exclusively.

It gets caused by a novel virus belonging virtually and genetically to the family of “Coronaviruses”.

The novel Coronavirus outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in late December and has since sickened at least 190,664 overall.

The signs of infection? -According to WHO, the symptoms include: ●fever ●Cough ●Shortness of breath ●breathing difficulties

How it has become a global crisis of 2020? Global market has been falling sharply since jobs and business firms are being locked down all across the world. Economy is on a path to recession. Even though China, which is assumed to be it’s epicentre, is now slowly getting back to work, the unemployment rate rose 1 percentage point to 6.2% (certainly an underestimate).

Meanwhile, for the countries like Pakistan, solving the problems of Coronavirus just breeds the issue of unemployment, as narrated by PM Imran Khan.

Trading is the primary source of economy. Geographical borders are being closed down ultimately breaking off the trading with other countries.

Social distancing, in order to prevent it’s spread, is another visible emerging issue. People can’t communicate the way they used to do before and can’t spend time together. People are even struggling to get their daily essentials and food stuff.

All educational institutions have been asked to pause. And the exams are supposed to be postponed overall.

The freedom of practicing religious rituals at respective religious sites is gone since the congestions at such places are strictly prohibited on the account of Covid-19’s virulence.

And the worst of all, the panic and fear which has rolled out among masses.

Sporting projects are on merely shutdown. Schedules are frozen, stadiums are silent.

In short, the life seems to be jammed up because of one freaking virus.

What’s the remedy? How it can get cured? Currently, there’s no vaccine available to fight it. Only it’s symptoms can be made less intensive. There are only preventions, but no cure. However, amid the fear of Coronavirus, almost 30+ companies and academic institutes are in race to develop the vaccine ASAP but still it’d take a considerable time because before making a vaccine publicly available, it’d have to cross the barriers of human trials.

Stay safe!! Although distance is the vital, but it’s our all war to fight it collectively cooperatively.

“Iqra and Yasir’s proposal dances in a wild circle of unbroken felicitously greetings and slagging, round-the-clock”

Gohar Rasheed clearly sums up what has been constantly revolving on the Social Media platform of Pakistan since 18th LSA awards ceremony which took place on 7 July, 2019.

Needless to mention, one of the weighty highlights was the Yasir Hussain’s proposal to actress Iqra Aziz. Yasir Hussain proposed the actress and she said ‘YES!!’, the moment which really attracted and invited a gale of diffusing felicitously greetings and a pile of criticism.

lets venture into the actual picture.

People have been talking constantly about this proposal, which is characterized by YASIR KISSING IQRA’S CHEEKS OR ON NECK, specifically pivoted on either religious criticism, cultural criticism, or some are flooring it to the marketing or publicity strategies. Indeed the criticism is swaying in a coalition manner.

According to some people, it’s entirely Haraam for Yasir to kiss Iqra until their relationship actually gets shaped into Islamic way, that’s Nikkah.

Yeah, rightly so. There are no second thoughts to this criticism under the hindsight of Islam.

But some are venturing it too forward with, which I might call breaking into someone personal’s beliefs regarding religion.

Cultural apologists aren’t shy of picking on this weird act of kissing.

Cultural upholders claim the battle with their opinions circulating that Yasir and Iqra have back-stabbed our unique Eastern or Islamic culture with the breeze of Western culture by kissing without Nikkah and so publicly.

Cultural upholders are also seem to be justified in their claims, rightly so.

Or some has hilariously put the guns on the shoulders of PM IMRAN KHAN and targeted the situation.

Meanwhile in this crowd of twirling criticism, some of the celebrities have also congratulated the newly couple on their engagement and have asked fans to stop bringing the state of opprobrium for the couple over wishing them good-luck.

Hamza Ali Abassi steps in this situation of strife quoting or referring some Islamic knowledge.

Have a glance on it!

It’s not ended yet!

Have my own take-on:

I myself, to-be-honest, would never floor any kind of criticism in this matter.

To me, every kind of criticism seems fair and demanding either it’s of religious nature or of cultural nature.

As we all know, we all are living in a world which have the obsession to mimic the West. It’d be a plain lie to deny!

As the time has evolved, we’ve come so close to western society through mimeographs of their clothing, lifestyle, entertainment etc. We’ve became so close to it, that once what was called the ‘bug’ will soon turn itself into a ‘feature.’ This ‘western bug’, I don’t know whether to blame it on media, masses, celebrities mentalities to feel insecure while frankly copying West or to weigh it on the wings of time which I mostly claim that none of us is wrong, because it’s just a demand of time. We all are on the knees in front of time and social evolutions.

So, in short, when such things have become the norms in our daily life then we certainly don’t hold the warrant to criticize others.

P.S: I don’t mean to slander Western concepts as I myself have followed a lot of Western terminologies and find them really productive.

While we, ourselves as a majority, are leaning or tucking in this trap, it’d be a bit harsh to put comments on someone doing it.

Aight! Now get ourselves on religious grounds.

Yes! They deserve to be criticized religiously but let’s not bash or judge them on their personal beliefs regarding religion. It’s entirely none of our business in this busy world. Everyone knows how to tread while accompanying his religion.

These are the points to me, where this all swaying criticism gets lurked and gets a bit unfair.

Hold on my opinions haven’t broken up yet!!

Let’s talk about celebrities.

To a sports fanatic like me, they might not be as important as role models they’re to other people who follow them massively. But it’d be very gross to say that they’re not the integral components of our society.

People do idolise them in many aspects of life and try to carbon copy them. Not sure about other nations but as far as I’ve observed, Pakistanis do.

Being the central figures of society, they share the ample burden of representing Pakistan, it’s culture, religion, beyond their duties of just appearing on screens. They need to understand this duty and they need to rectify it where they’ve been taking it wrong either it’s on some nature of ‘dressing’, ‘clothing’ or it’s based on some ideological platform.

After all, I want to wish both Iqra and Yasir a hearty congratulations and wish them a best luck despite holding my opinion that this was all planned and a merely a publicity stunt.

But let’s not being too edgy that it ends up irritating the newly engaged couple on their auspicious moment. ❤

Thank you!
